It is a pleasure to invite you to take part in the 22nd edition of the International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation (GR22) and the 13th edition of the Edoardo Amaldi Conference on Gravitational Waves (Amaldi13).

GR22 is the latest in the series of triennial international conferences held under the auspices of the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation. The highly prestigious GR conferences constitute the principal international meetings for scientists working in all areas of general relativity and gravitation. They have been held in many countries, the latest one at Columbia University in New York (USA). In Valencia, GR22 will be organized in conjunction with Amaldi13, held under the auspices of the Gravitational Wave International Committee. Since 1997, they are held every two years and are regarded as the most important international conferences for the gravitational-wave detection.

The LIGO/Virgo Nobel-Prize-winning observations of gravitational waves (GW) have opened a new window to study the universe. GW have been detected from mergers of binary black holes and binary neutron stars. More detections are expected during the upcoming LIGO/Virgo observing run O3, when the conference will take place. Many applied aspects of GW physics with current detectors will be discussed. Likewise, lectures will be scheduled to cover future GW detectors and missions, such as KAGRA, LIGO India, Einstein Telescope, Cosmic Explorer, LISA, and PTAs. Applied aspects of experimental gravitation, relativistic astrophysics, cosmology, and numerical relativity, will be covered as well.

For this edition, and because of the many technological and computational aspects of GW detections and experimental gravity, the Local Organization Committee is devoted to giving sponsors a key and central role in the event. Exhibition space is where all the action takes place, right next to all rooms where talks will be given and in the middle of coffee breaks.
